BOURTON ROVERS PLAYERS MANUAL ~
SENIOR TEAM 2008/9
Managers Introduction
Welcome to another season and one that I’m truly looking forward to.
After taking over at Christmas last season this provided me with a fantastic
opportunity to assess the playing members and the organisation of the club.
Since the end of last season I have been working closely with a number of senior
players and coaches to begin developing a new structure and foundation for the
club.
On the playing side I will look to take more responsibility over the entire
squad of players as I believe that both the 1st and 2nd team should be working
closer together with a common aim of producing a superb 1st team. The reason I
am doing this that clubs that have excellent 1st teams inevitably have a good
2nd teams and an internal club structure.
I also feel that a place in the 1st team should be something that should be
earned and a sense of pride should be there for anyone wearing the shirt. It is
with this end that I will look to ensure that anyone making the 1st team are
rewarded sufficiently.
I have asked the committee for a number of things including new training balls,
Astroturf training, tracksuits and a minibus for away games. All these items
cost money and we are seeking out new sponsors all the time, we are also looking
for your help as players. This season every player has the opportunity to be
sponsored and any player securing the £50 sponsorship will have free
registration, tracksuit and polo shirt, whilst the business supporting them can
advertise in our new weekly email newsletter.
I’m looking forward to this season immensely and hope to see many old and new
faces at the first training sessions.
Regards
Paul Heming

Club Fines
This season we will be introducing club fines to improve the discipline but also
to generate some good ‘team bonding’. Club captains will be responsible for
collecting and keeping track of the fines and all the money raised will go back
over the bar for the players in our many social outings we will be having.
A list of fines will go up in the changing room but the types of fines will be
for
Arriving late to a game
Not wearing tracksuits and polo shirts for away matches
Not paying match fees on day of match
Getting booked for dissent
Not bringing a compulsory item for away games

Team Selection – NOTE THIS HAS CHANGED !
You will deemed to be available for selection once you are signed on and are a
regular member of the squad.
Selection will occur midweek and the team will be posted at the club and emailed
out to the players.
If you are NOT available for the weekend then you MUST inform your manager
BEFORE midweek training as selection will occur after this. This can be via text
or phone call.
If you have been selected to play and for some reason cannot play on Saturday
you MUST CALL the respective manager ASAP (leave a voicemail message if there is
no answer). DO NOT TEXT – this is vitally important!
The committee will be coming down hard on members who let the team down as it
reflects badly on the whole club and the overall ethos.
